MATCHBOOK MEMOIRS

"Strike a Memory"

During the stillness of the COVID lockdown, I was literally walking around my house trying to find something to photograph and came across my collection of matchbooks. Each one is more than just a souvenir; it’s a tiny time capsule, holding the flicker of a memory, a place, a moment. Some are from long-gone restaurants and bars where good times echoed late into the night. Others are from gas stations, hotels, or national parks that left an impression even decades later.

Photographing these matchbooks became a way to relive the stories—to honor the people, places, and experiences that shaped me. This series is a visual archive of nostalgia, a reminder that even the smallest objects can hold the biggest memories.
